Shopping random weird banner ads can be fun…and inexpensive!
Last night as I was being sucked into the time warp vortex that is cracked.com, I noticed a few banner ads on the site that looked interesting. Now I know Big Brother/Google has ways to show you ads that fit the profile of your search interests, but this was just weird. So, you know I had to click on two…or thirteen of them! I never expected this to turn into a shopping trip. I found a few sites that I though you guys might want to know about.
PlasticLand was an adventure for me because I have a huge fixation with things that look old but are really new. Things on this site like the Marijuana Munchies Notecard Set featuring a fifties housewife in apron with a doobie in her mouth, are the shopping moments I die for. I have my sights set on ordering the Vintage Beauty Parlor Makeup Book. Internet shopping is so much less boring with sites like this around. They carry clothing, shoes, handbags, home décor, books, gifts, and children’s clothing and novelties. It’s a charming little novelty website full of gifts for the Wednesday Adams in your life.
I am a big Dr. Who Geek! So as I stumbled on the article ‘How Dr. Who Became My Religion’, I felt like an eager ComicCon attendee. But scroll down and there is a banner ad for my favorite thing in the world (T-shirts) for my favorite price in the world ($6)! When I wanted a Dr. Who T-shirt about a year ago, I was forced to go shopping on the internet in places like Amazon.com. I even stooped so low as to shop at Spencers…I haven’t seen the inside of the place or its website since I was 23! I felt dirty just thinking about it. 6dollarshirts.com appeared to me in a ray of light last night. They have, not just Dr. Who t-shirts but so much more. Visit the site when shopping for wise cracking graphics that will make you feel like you’ve found your inner witty.
Threadless.com is another site that sells my favorite thing, and if you haven’t been paying attention it’s t-shirts! This banner ad cued my attention and delight while reading about the ‘7 Least Sexy Songs about Sex’! Right before I searched ‘Up with the Cock’ by Judge Dread on Rhapsody, I clicked the ad for this website. The site is an awesome wonderland where you can submit designs to make your own customized tee’s to sell on the site and you can choose from past winners designs to purchase. They have other things on the site as well, you can purchase tote bags, novelties, home décor, and kids items too! T-shirts start at 19.50 and you can even get a few on sale at $12.99. And get this, you can buy direct from the website or add it to an Amazon wishlist! It’s such a colorful and artistic concept, and I will be shopping here when I want that very unique piece.
And just for fun…here’s Up with the Cock by Judge Dread! Lol!
