When its nippy…but not cold enough for a coat…try trendy oversized sweaters!
Oversized sweaters are a big trend this season. Luckily, I don’t give a shit about being on trend and have several staple oversized sweaters I wear every winter! This United Colors of Benetton happens to be one of my favorites. It’s more of an oversized cardigan, it zips down the front and has that adorable tassel on the zipper. I also like this sweater because with later in the season I can wear it with another thin sweater underneath, some tights, and a scarf and no coat is needed. It’s so versatile and because it’s such a light shade of grey, it looks great with so many different colors.
I am also in love with these shorts from Express and this body con dress from Charlotte Russe. What I love about spandex dresses is that I can wear them as a top. Two garments for the price of one? I’ll take it! It worked for me in the summer and it will keep working on through the winter. I tuck that dress in those shorts and it works with strappy sandals or moto boots. It’s really one of my favorite easy go to outfits, and together with any of my button or zip oversized sweaters works well.
This outfit is another transitional fall outfit. Oversized sweaters work in the early fall days when it’s not exactly freezing outside, but throw on some tights and scarf and it’ll take you right into the winter. My only suggestion for an outfit like this is make sure you find your balance. You don’t want to bulk yourself up by wearing an oversized sweater with boyfriend jeans. Also, with a sweater like this I would stay away from really thick textured tights (like the ones that look like leggings) because that can add some bulk to your silhouette as well. If you opt for a sweater underneath a sweater like this, make sure to keep it thin and maybe even avoid printed sweaters under it as well. Instead, maybe opt for a cute thin knit purple turtle neck or crew neck sweater.
