Outfit of the Day: May 21,2013
Today was sort of a busy day for me. I walked a lot, drank a lot of coffee, and took a lot of photos. So I thought I would let today’s photos be my outfit of the day pictures (OOTD). I’m wearing a pair of emerald green skinnies from Express (Shop similar), My mother’s mustard colored wool blazer that is probably 5 years older than me, and my aunt’s Doug E. Fresh and the Get Fresh Crew, shoulder padded, awesome, Versace-esque print blouse. Oh and I snagged the red, patent leather faux loafer heels from Charlotte Russe. You can shop a similar look here. This outfit was comfortable, warm in the morning, cool in the afternoon, and spill proof! *sloppy eater raises hand in shame*
For all of you natural hair beauties out there, that is a badly executed braid out on my head! What happened was…I braided my hair in four sections last night after a good condition. But, because of my thick, medium porosity strands, it did NOT dry in time enough to safely take them out this morning. So if you want this look, just do a braid out and pay absolutely NO attention to when your hair is dry or ready to take out. Easy as pie.
I don’t do accessories with this outfit because it’s better when left to its own devices. But if you did want to do a look like this with accessories, you could always continue the color block with a nice solid colored purse, some wooden or brass jewelry, or a nice statement necklace in pearls, silver, or black. I would even try a brown cross body bag with it. But, in the name of vintage it should look kinda old and tattered. I usually do a white or black flower in my hair but my hair screamed GET THE HECK OUT at my bobbie pins this morning…so I stopped trying.
