KeSha: The epitome of Anti-Fashion

I love music. There is a soundtrack to my life playing constantly in my head. I know exactly what song to play for any occasion…ever! I’m starting to think that it’s no coincidence that all of my favorite artists dress like space cadets! In light of this realization, I present to you:

Soar Thumbs’ Favorite Musicians Style Series

I am going to give you guys some of my favorite examples of artists who Stick Out and a bit about how to shop the look. I’ve got some good ones coming up for you on everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Amy Winehouse. Well take a look at some of the music industry’s best dressed throughout history and up to today! Stay tuned every Tuesday for a new artist.

First up…KeSha! Whether you love her and hate her music, vice versa, or neither, you cannot deny that this young lady Sticks Out! She is said to be bringing grunge back but I’ll take it a little farther…I think she is bringing anti-fashion fashion back. She’s the poster child for not just grunge but punk, glam, and a little bit of that good old fashion rock n’ roll style.

Here’s how you recreate it. First off, you cannot pull this off without some outrageously punk/grunge shoes. Pull out some combat boots with a flair, some animal print or floral Oxfords, or a cute pair of platforms and your half way there. Featured in this article are my fav’s from the Avril Lavigne Abbey Dawn collection. You can keep your pants simple, go with the leather look, or maybe rock some shorts with some designed stockings or tights. Normally I would have gone with some black shorts and distressed tights, but I chose the black pants instead. Any black jacket will do for the KeSha look, she doesn’t discriminate by only wearing moto jackets. This quilted jacket is one of my personal favorites because it can go from sexy to kick ass in 60 seconds! I shredded the tee myself, with a little patience and some TV to catch up on, it’s a breeze!
