How to on how color, accessories, and confidence help you Stick Out!
Yesterday was a day of shopping and eating for me. All this rain made me want to get out. Well I decided when I woke up that I would wear something extra colorful, to offset the gloomy skies. I went for a vintage floral blouse and coral jeans from Express. My accessories are understated with a wooden necklace and bracelet set. Now, I practically got all this together before I opened my eyes, because the best closet app is in my eyelids. But it’s not that easy for some! So I decided that today I would give you guys a few pointers on how to Stick Out!
Do something daring!
If You’re gonna wear that purple top…don’t stop there! Amp it up with a colorful scarf or maybe a contrasting cardi. Take the time to think about the things that will make that color pop. If I’m wearing a white top, my broach is gonna be huge and jewels in a rainbow of colors.
Color Blocking is good!
Don’t be afraid to wear a purple skirt, pink blouse, and a royal blue cardi! Some eccentric fashionista’s would even work in some colored tights or shoes with that. Don’t be afraid of contrasting…it looks better than you think.
Work those accessories!
I love a big earring in one ear, a stud in the other, and a huge bag. These are my signature pieces, and I’m naked without at least one of them. This is a great blog post over at Fashion Tag about statement earrings! Don’t shy away from colored shoes. The reason I wanted to start Sticking Out is because one day I looked down and all my shoes were black! From that day forward I’ve been buying red, pink, blue, brown…all types of colors of shoes.
Make the makeup!
There are so many different things you can do to liven up an outfit with makeup. If you’re no good at that sort of thing…learn it! The person who helped me the most on my journey to discover makeup is Makeupd0ll on YouTube. The perfect color on your eyelids can make everything from your earrings to your shoes POP!
Most importantly – Love the skin you’re in
The last and best piece of advice I can give you is to have confidence. If yopu pick an outfit that is off the wall, zany, or loud…commit! You can’t pull this sort of thing off if you’re not confident in your choice, your style, and how you work it! A wall flower in sunny yellow pumps is just a girl in some weird shoes! But a confident girl in those same pumps Sticks Out!
