Halloween Makeup Ideas! Scary and fun!

Sometimes Halloween Makeup can make or break the costume!

Halloween makeup

I have a few favorite Halloween makeup looks. I love anything styled after Dia De Los Muertos, the Corpse Bride, zombies, or Alice in Wonderland. Those are the things I tend to stick to if I’m doing a friends’ makeup or on the off chance I decide to go out. But here are five of the best concepts I’ve seen others do in my Halloween searches this year!

Be still my Roy Lichtenstein loving heart! The Pop Art/ Comic Halloween makeup trend this year is killer. I love all of the different ways it can be done, including with just the dots and a little highlighting and contouring. But I also love the all-out look with the cartoon tears and yellow cartoon hair!  I thought I would include a tutorial for you guys just in case you want to try it out.

I am so glad the Walking Dead has brought back the reign of the zombie. Enough of that handsome crying vampire stuff! And that trend was no fun for Halloween. Put on some red lipstick and some red contacts and that’s it! You’re all of a sudden a Cullen! Please! This Halloween makeup trend is so versatile. You can run the gamut from real FX looking zombie to cartoonish/comic strip style. And theres a look out there for every skill level from professional MUA to 13 year old.

I have always been a fan of the glow in the dark tribal war paint at the black light Halloween party. But this year, MUA’s and laymen alike have been applying the look a little more neatly. I love it! This is a great website to grab your glow in the dark makeup, paint, and nail polish!

Dia de los Muertos is a spirited Mexican holiday that many people around the world are intrigued with. I personally love to look at images of the celebrations and the imagery is always spectacular. Here in America La Catrina is a popular choice of Halloween costumes. This is another makeup choice that is for a wide range of skill sets. You can also play around with the colors I’ve seen this look done in all blue, red & black, shades of pink & purple and many more! There are a billion tutorials out there if you want to give it a go.

And here are a few honorable mentions.
