Five trends I’ll be trying this fall

Fall is coming! Time to check out the trends.

Trends

I’m super excited about this. Even though Atlanta doesn’t usually get the memo until around October, I will still be pulling out the winter clothes. I have done a full inventory on my closet to figure out what I need, and there are a few trends I will be trying out. Now, I don’t usually do the trend thing, unless it’s something I can pull off with stuff I already own. But this fall I decided I will go out and buy a few pieces because there are so many fast fashion stores around. BUT…if I can’t get them from H&M, Zara, or somewhere inexpensive…I won’t be buying it. Here are just a few things I’ll be trying out.

The leather circle or ‘skater’ skirt

I really love this trend for fall. I have so many pairs of knee and thigh high boots and I think this is the perfect skirt to wear with them. A mini skirt or pencil skirt with high boots can get hooker-ish really quickly. This trend will allow me to rock a skirt with high boots and keep it classy. The other perfect thing about this pieces is that it comes in different lengths, which is a total plus!

Emerald green

I have not been a fan of the color in the past, because it kinda flushes me out. I end up looking like a cartoon character when they get sick and turn green. But, I really like some of the green suede and silk pieces I’ve been seeing in the fall trend previews. I think I’ll try so green bottoms or shoes and just try to keep the color away from my face.

Peplums

I have been hearing about peplums all year and how flattering they are for all body types. I haven’t had the heart to try it, because frankly, I didn’t think the trend would stick. But now that it’s moving into its third season on runways and in stores, I think I’ll give it a try. But you guys know that I have to soar and stick out at all times so I will probably be making my own peplum. I really want to play with the prints, colors, and textures so I’ll be taking a trip to the fabric store on this one!

Statement outerwear

I am super excited about this one! I have a ton of statement coats and jackets and I can’t wait to play with them this fall. You see these outerwear pieces in my personal style photos this fall. I really plan to buy a few more coats, because I have an uncontrollable coat fetish.

Punked Out

After this year’s MET gala, everyone is going to be rocking the punk look this fall. I plan to punk it out every chance I get, but you know I have to do it a little bit off kilter. I dance to the beat of my own drum! So stay tuned to my style pics this fall the get some inspiration on how to stick out like a soar thumb and be on trend too! I already own several punk pieces because I’m that kinda girl. I do however, plan on purchasing a few more plaid and spikes pieces.
