Cannes Film Festival attendee’s and a few others are this week’s Best Dressed
This week in the world of fashion and fame we were delighted by the Cannes Film festival! I was especially excited because I am getting into the PR game. I was anxious to see what publicists and costume designers collaborated to get the stars of the movies in for the red carpets. Like any costume party, there were a few people who went as themselves, and a few who went as the character they play. I love film festivals for this reason! We get to see how many people dress for adornment and how many dress for business. Celebs like Laetitia Casta threw in what seems like their own spins on couture favorites. Jennifer Lawrence was definitely not dressed in a way that we would imagine seeing Katniss Everdeen! But, Milla Jovovich in Prada and with a new set of bangs definitely looked like a bad ass on her way to a post-apocalyptic ball.
Two of Nicole Kidman’s looks caught my eye! The L’wren Scott dress she wore for the Llewyn Davis premiere was heart stopping. It was a bold floral print that looked reminiscent of the African prints and florals that were popular in the early 90’s. I loved the colors on her, and it surprisingly did not clash with her strawberry blonde mane. The Dior Haute Couture dress was simply adorably. I love the spring feel of the colors and the abstract floral embellishments. It was a simply charming dress…and that is not something we get to say often in today’s fashion world.
I have absolutely no words for Jessica Chastain in Givenchy for the All Is Lost premiere at Cannes! She was simply breath taking in that purple and the embroidery and embellishments are something that the House of Givenchy is known for perfecting. I don’t even want to know how many fingers had to bleed for that dress to be so totally amazing!
We do have a couple of entries this week that are not from the Cannes footage. Tyson and Kimberly Chandler do it again in a picture taken for WWD magazine. The couple is so ultra-stylish, and they complement each other in every way. He dresses immaculately for a guy who is 700 feet tall! He is pictured in a relaxed Waraive Boswell pant and jacket combo, and she looks regal in a dress by Suno. And might I add that their living room is awesomely furnished, it looks so big and well lit!
Miroslava Duma hits the Chime for Change concert suited in an electric blue that makes her normally fair skin look tanned and smooth as a baby’s ass. And I really need the low down on the ruffled dolman sleeves.
