Sara Jessica Parker, J. Lo, and some other veteran favorite’s make up this week’s best dressed!
This week’s best dressed come from a shit storm of gala’s, parties, and awards that absolutely nobody knew about except the people invited. MySpace had an artist showcase…I didn’t know MySpace still existed, but okay. There is still a great deal of haberdashery being organized in the name of premiering Bling Ring. How many screenings and premieres do these people have to go to? Kinda makes you wonder if stars who go on late night shows and say “I haven’t seen it. I can’t watch my own movies.” are complete bullshitters! We had the Apollo Spring Gala this week, honoring Chaka Khan and inducting her into the Apollo Hall of Fame. I’ve heard that this was a night to remember with funny man Wayne Brady hosting and vocal power houses like Mary J. Blige, Patti Labelle, and Alexandria Burke performing. There were a few other events as well including the amFAR Inspiration Gala to benefit HIV & AIDS awareness, The Make A Wish Foundation Anniversary Gala, and the Women in Film Crystal & Lucy Awards.
There were quite a few show stoppers at the amFAR gala, but my three fav’s by far were Iman, J.Lo, and Dree Hemingway! Iman in the red Valentino was gone with the wind fabulous! Give me electric blue and sparkles and I will have my perfect wardrobe, J. Lo rocked it in Tom Ford! And Dree Hemingway in the netted white Calvin Klein dress was adorable.
Dianna Agron was simple and understated yet colorful in this Marc Jacobs ensemble. I still am not sure what the deal is with MySpace still hosting events…but that is some commute research for me to do this week.
I am in an unconditional and constant love affair with Sarah Jessica Parker. She will always be on my best dressed list…as long as she continues to not leave the house naked! I have loved her ever since that cheesy alien comedy she did back in the day! She is totally rocking my second favorite print, polka dots! She definitely shined at the Apollo Spring Gala!
They are still premiering and screening Bling Ring, and at every event I find myself having outfit envy at least once. This week’s best dressed, Claire Julien, blew me away in this white and nude Pucci dress! I have been shopping all spring for my summer little white dress, but this picture makes me want to just make one myself.
Karlie Kloss and Hailee Steinfeld really shined this week at the Make A Wish Anniversary Gala and the Women in Film Awards. They make this week’s best dressed because I love color. Again, I am totally down for anything royal blue and Hailee totally killed it in Sportmax! The perforated shoe was also a major plus. What’s better than royal blue? The new metallic trend going around. I love this dress by Prabal Gurung in which they managed to mix floral and metallic…in the same dress…at the same time. You had me at hello!
